Kansas Department of Health and Environment: Kansas Information for Communities

Kansas Community Health Status Indicators

KIC FastStats: HHS Community Health Status Indicators

The Department of Health and Human Services has prepared community health status indicators (CHSI) for every county in the U.S. The goal of Community Health Status Indicators (CHSI) is to provide an overview of key health indicators for local communities and to encourage dialogue about actions that can be taken to improve a community?s health. The CHSI report was designed not only for public health professionals but also for members of the community who are interested in the health of their community.

The Department of Health and Human Services is solely responsible for the content. Because of methodological differences rates and frequencies reported may be different from those cited in Kansas reports. For more information on preparation of the CHSI measures, visit http://communityhealth.hhs.gov/homepage.aspx?j=1.
